Family Time
March 10th, 2007
Woke up pretty early (for a Saturday morning) to have breakfast with my family. I was already complaining when my mom barged in my room to wake me up.. but then I realized that we, as a family, only get to eat together on Saturday mornings. We don’t even eat dinner together anymore during the week. Isn’t that sad?
I hate to admit it, but since we’ve moved to California, our family values have gone nowhere but the waning road. We don’t even have the “family talks” anymore. Nobody knows anyone’s business. Somehow I feel like we’re all going on our separate directions, and we don’t even realize it.
My mom actually pointed it out a couple of weeks ago.
“I really miss us eating dinner together,” she remarked.
“But, mom, I really have a lot of things to do,” I replied.
“I just want for us to have a family time everyday..”
Well, it’s true. We don’t bond anymore.. not as much as before. And now It’s becoming really apparent. Oh well, right?
But at least we still have our Saturday breakfast! It’s just a pain in the ass though. Waking up at 8 on a Saturday morning is pretty unreasonable especially when you think of Saturday as the first day in the week you actually get to sleep in. Tsk. But I guess.. it’s all good.
