Homework Dilemma
March 12th, 2007
12:00 midnight.
Homeworks done: Zero.
This week didn’t start out as nicely as I would’ve wanted it to. I lost 20 bucks. I lost my Psycho-cybernetics book. My iPod is acting up (and you know you gotta fret when you realize that you didn’t buy the warranty for it).
I’m going nuts, really.
Today, in Chemistry class.. my teacher assigned a whole chapter for us to read for homework.. so I asked:
“Mr. H, when you said ‘Read chapter nine,’ did you mean the whole chapter?”
“Well, of course,” he replied.
And I started laughing (with apparent irritability and annoyance), because come-effing-on?! Chapter nine just so happened to be about those darned orbitals and molecular geometry and all babel terms I know not the slightest idea of.
And my teacher started laughing too.
“Haha.. I’m not unrealistic, you know? I just want you to have an idea of what we’re going to do tomorrow.”
“Ha Ha. But it’s 40 pages. That’s a whole lotta reading.. and there’s so many words! I’m kinda word-o-phobic, Mr. H,” I whined.
*And he was still laughing like crazy.* “I don’t mean to laugh this hard, but I think you’ll do just fine if you read the chapter tonight,” he added.
“I’ll read, alright. But, understanding it is an option, right?”
*He looked at me weirdly. Paused. Cleared his throat.* “Right. Rina, just read it, will you?”
“Sure…”
And so here I am. All droopy-eyed after only reading 3 pages of the homework. And I’m already sleepy.
Plus, it’s been hella hot here in my city. And we all know we could never get anything done in this type of warm weather because we’d all want to sleep.
